Created by Rick Nelson a dear friend and colleague of John’s for many years.
Audio track of the original arrangement of Asia's "The Smile Has Left Your Eyes (Parts I & II)," carefully re-constructed from various archival studio recordings. The band ultimately decided to abandon this extended track. The track, as presented here, was painstakingly assembled from archival studio recordings of different reference mixes to showcase, as closely as possible, the most complete arrangement.
This was filmed on May 16th, 2013 at Spirit of 66 in Verviers, BE. This is the first time the footage has seen the light of day.
This is beautiful and above all, it is so clear how happy John is, how comfortable in his skin and in the band’s company, and critically how soaring the golden voice is.
The band were such an important part of John’s fulfilment in his later years. He absolutely loved the D97 vibe.
